Trinity Bare - Director
I have been the preschool director of Sunrise Community Church Preschool since 2014. I am married and have one daughter named Elizabeth. I have a BA in Child Development from Sacramento State University and have been working with children for nearly 15 years. I strive to help provide a program that fosters the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development of children. Most importantly, I want to help each child discover their identity as one beloved by God. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
Lindsey O'Donnell - Lead Teacher
I am the lead preschool teacher at Sunrise Community Church Preschool. I graduated from Sacramento State with a BA in Child Development. I have been a preschool teacher for 6 years and enjoy interacting with the children. I love teaching the preschoolers new things, watching them grasp ideas, and watching them explore. I also enjoy camping, painting, puzzles, and hiking.
Melanie Fox - Teacher
I have the wonderful privilege of being able to work at a preschool where I can share God’s word and talk about the love of Jesus. I love working with children and being able to see them grow with so much joy and curiosity. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Sacramento State University. I have worked with children for more than 20 years. I have worked several years as a substitute in preschool and elementary schools throughout the San Juan Unified School District. I lived in Costa Rica for 8 years and worked for 5 years as an assistant in first grade at Costa Rica Christian School. We are a Spanish speaking family. My husband and I have a four-year-old daughter and a schnauzer named Lilly. My hobbies are traveling, movies, shopping and reading. I also enjoy spending time outdoors with my family.
Bethel Rusch - Teacher
I relocated to Sacramento in 2009 to attend Sacramento State University where I received a BA in Child Development with a concentration in Early Care and Education. I have been working in child development centers since 2011 and have held multiple positions ranging from infant teacher to school director. My family includes my husband, two daughters Eloise and Aurelia, and our dog Bosa. In my free time, I enjoy an active lifestyle, reading, and spending time with my family. It is a joy to see the children grow and enjoy learning about the world around them.
Amy Fregeau - Teacher
I am thrilled to be a part of the team at Sunrise Community Church Preschool. One of my greatest passions in life is investing in the lives of children both academically and spiritually. I received my AA in Social and Behavioral Science from Santa Monica College. For the last decade I have been working with children in some capacity and it has been an honor to do so. I am dedicated to seeing each child thrive and desire for each one to know the love of Christ. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children, visiting new coffee shops, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
You’ll find answers to many frequently asked questions listed below.
What is your philosophy?
The developmental needs and interests of children form the foundation of our program. We are committed to providing an atmosphere where your child can explore and develop their individual abilities. We strive to provide a program that will help children develop habits of observation, questioning and listening. We offer a variety of ‘hands-on’ experiences in which children will learn by doing. Process is always valued above product.
God, in His infinite wisdom, created children and gifted them uniquely. We believe that we honor Him by respecting and nurturing each child’s development in their own time. It is our desire to provide a caring, attentive environment, where children flourish.
What are your staff like?
Our well-qualified staff meets or exceeds the requirements set by the State Department of Social Services. As Christian early childhood educators, we will continue learning and growing in our relationship with Christ and others so that we may nurture a peaceful environment, surrounding the children with understanding, patience, warmth and giving. All staff are certified in pediatric CPR and first aid, trained in universal precautions, fingerprinted and have both criminal background and child abuse index clearances.
What is your curriculum?
Many times we hear parents say, “I want my child to learn things, not just play.” Or they ask, “Do you teach them letters here or do they just play?” Before learning can take place, “pre” skills should be provided such as pre-math, literacy and language as well as a strong foundation in social and emotional skills. We offer a curriculum that meets each child’s level of development, and provide materials, equipment and an environment that encourages constant opportunity for “learning through play.”
